Status Update
STATUS
UPDATE: Regrettably, the great news about Tanya's IGF-1
levels dropping down into in the normal range was very short lived.
Tanya's recent blood work shows her numbers back up in the 500's.
Acromegaly can strike anyone at any age.

Thank You!
We're sending out a heartfelt thanks to all those who sent in donations to help with Tanya's medicine expenses.
KTNV News13 visits Tanya and Anne...
Please note: I've informed a KTNV writer/web producer that it is incorrect to use the term 'gigantism' regarding Tanya (and Anne), and that the proper diagnostic term for their illness is ACROMEGALY.

The week that WAS!!!
First of all, we had the company of this lovely gentleman (photo right) from a UK media group, spend almost a week filming and interviewing us (Team Tanya). We really enjoyed having him here. He took great care to dig deeply into 'who' Tanya really is...because we all know she is NOT defined by her Acromegaly. A heartfelt "thank you" to Mike. We can only hope that the editing process does your artistic and caring footage justice.
ps...In-and-Out Burger is asking where you've disappeared to!
Then we got a poolside visit from the lovely KTNV, Las Vegas, News13 reporter, Katie Crowther (Click on link for Katie. Photo Left: Mike and {SORRY, WE FORGOT YOUR NAME!!!} News13 Camera Guy).
It was a bit of a media-fest having TWO companies hanging out with Team Tanya, but we welcome the attention because it's always an opportunity to spread pituitary tumor awareness with others. Remember, it can happen to A N Y O N E!
ABC NEWS and another UK media group, then contacted us for permission to spread Tanya's Great News. Are you kidding? OF COURSE! Because...we welcome the attention. It's always an opportunity to spread Acromegaly and pituitary tumor awareness with others.
Then, it happened...Tanya's website, blog, guestbook and virtual candles, EXPLODED with a surge of activity, causing the website to exceed bandwidth (for the first time, ever)!
After ALL that, remember this guy (photo, right)? Spencer Lubitz, our FAVORITE 'blue jeans and tennies' reporter from local KTNV News 13, showed up today (photo below) to capture a monumental event...US Army Captain, Anne Barlieb came out to celebrate Tanya's GREAT news with her, Live and in Person! Captain Anne was diagnosed with Acromegaly, too.

Tanya's great news of normal-for-the-first-time-in-10-years, IGF-1 growth hormone level, made big news (video, below).

Thank You!
In the past 24 hours Tanya's website, blog, emails, donations and virtual candle pages have all experience a massive surge of activity. So much so, that the website blacked out at one point with BANDWIDTH LIMIT EXCEEDED. I've been able to play catch up on all fronts, with some success.
It's Tanya's hearts desire to help educate the public about early detection of Acromegaly...because it can happen to anyone.
If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with Acromegaly, please visit and become a member of the website our dear friend Wayne Brown created: ACROMEGALY COMMUNITY AND SUPPORT.
Thank you all for your wonderful out-pouring of love, kindness, and tremendous support for Tanya, Karen, the family and myself!
